Process

We followed the User Centred Design process to investigate how students may want to learn online. Letting user research be our guide, we brainstormed and designed a few solutions. We then tested our ideas via A/B tests and developed a high-fidelity interactive online course tool based on our findings.

Discovery

Competitive Analysis: similar products already existed

To start with the research, we analyzed 5 direct competitors in the online education industry.

We learned that:

  1. Udemy, Khan Academy and Chegg offer general online course material with some offering video lectures while others only offering written lectures.

  2. Course Hero and Quizlet offer course-tailored material but only in written format.

  3. Wize is unique by offering both video and written content that is completely customized and tailored to the user’s course at their high school or university.
